The outcome of our research is important for society, whatever the outcome will be. See here for applications of our work.

Then, we aim to be represented in the press as often as our time, or the press office’s time, allow us to. It is important to communicate how we spend taxpayer’s money. In terms of euro spent per publication, we are doing very well.

We host school visits for quite a range of grades. This takes time away from our actual work but we feel this is a justified investment into the future generation. And it is rewarding.

We organise small meetings, this is mainly to connect interesting advanced students and PhD students in an international setting – very important aspects of research.

We take part in lots of Lange Nächte.

We contribute to the research of the local insect fauna.
