Among the methods we use are

Genetic Manipulations, such as CRISPR/Cas9, RNAi and GAL4 UAS. We also use other genetic resources such as the Drosophila Genome Reference Panel (DGRP) lines or our own mitolines.

Microscopy, including Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM) and Epifluorescent Microscopy, but also more advanced methods such as Atomic Force Microscopy AFM or Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM), the latter also allowing FRET.

Metabolic screens, such as ECAR/Oxphos ratios, FLIM and a self-developed (by A. Ribou, Perpignan) biophysical ROS measurement system, also based on fluorescence lifetime.

Unfortunately, we never do enough field work.
